 Danielle L. Cashman

Danielle Cashman is currently a fifth year student at The Pennsylvania State University. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Architectural Engineering with a focus in Construction. Her graduation is intended for the summer after her fifth year.

Danielle has had three previous internships, each of which gave her valuable experiences. In the summer of 2014 Danielle worked for Buch Construction, a family owned general contracting company . She worked on site at a large drug manufacturing headquarters on interior laboratory renovations in Gaithersburg, MD. Here she learned about the construction of laboratories and how closely the construction must be monitored. The following summer, summer of 2015, she interned with Buch Construction in their main office in Laurel, MD. During this summer she acted as the project engineer on a strip mall core and shell building being constructed. She handled submittals, RFIs, and worked directly with the subcontractors. She also had the opportunity to work on-site, in Richie Station, MD, several days a week to observe construction and shadow the superintendent. This past summer, summer of 2016, she had an internship with Gilbane Building Company where she learned the value of flexibility. She was fortunate enough to work on two projects, each of different type and magnitude. She was able to use her knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry on a project in Rockville, MD. Later in the summer she was the intern helping with project startup on a seven story full-building renovation in Hunt Valley, MD. She learned many things about what goes into getting a project started. Together, all of these internships have given Danielle valuable knowledge about the industry you cannot learn from a book, in addition to the knowledge and skills she has learned from the AE program.

Outside of the classroom Danielle is on the Club Rifle team at Penn State. Her other passions include painting and drawing.
